Back in 2006, Marc and Angel Chernoff faced a whirlwind of personal crises: the suicide of their best friend, the death of a family member, alcoholism, financial struggles, and the stresses of a new marriage.
“We were stuck, and we were lost,” says Angel.
So they created a blog called “Marc and Angel Hack Life” as a sort of accountability journal to lay out some of the principles they believed they needed to get through their hurdles. One of their early posts was called “30 Things to Stop Doing to Yourself.” It went viral, with over 600,000 views in one day. Messages of gratitude poured in from all over the world.
“At that point, we decided if we want to see what potential this has, we need to embrace it,” Angel says.
More like give it a bear hug until the eyes pop out. The Chernoffs quit their day jobs and poured their heart and soul into their self-improvement odyssey. To date, they have produced over 600 blog posts with 70 million views and a couple of bestselling books including their newest, 1000 Little Habits of Happy, Successful Relationships.
As a former Jake for Glamour and Guy Guru at Cosmo, I felt it was my duty to put these two relationship advice newbies to the test. I have been doling out counsel to unhappy and confused lovers since their early 90s, despite being highly unqualified to do.
What could the Chernoffs teach me that I didn’t already know?
To my surprise, quite a lot. In the latest episode of Write About Now, you’ll learn:
· The most common complaint couples make
· Questions every couple needs to ask each other to save their relationship.
· Toxic behaviors that tear couples apart
· The best relationship advice from 45 years of marriage.
· How to write clickable blog post headlines like the ones above.
